Dark Moon Women's Empowerment Ritual

Hey there, friends! I'm back with the ritual that I told you I was working on. 

I'm not sure what inspired me to do this, but it just felt like something that needed doing.

You know what? I think I do know. The patriarchy has been coming for us hard as of late. Our right to bodily autonomy and necessary healthcare has been under attack here in the States, not to mention other areas of the world that has seen women being stripped of the many advances and independent liberties they have been granted over the last several decades.

I am sick of it. We are on the threshold of great change...but we're teetering on the thin line that divides two very different possible outcomes. I would rather we fall on the side of progress, equity, and compassion than the side of regression, inequality, and apathy.

So, I created this ritual, which I will be performing on Samhain night, as the timing aligns with the night's Dark Moon phase.

This ritual can be incorporated into a larger ritual or performed on its own. 

While it is a Women's Empowerment Ritual, that doesn't mean you have to be a woman to participate. If you do not identify as a woman, but you'd still like to add your energy to the cause, you can do so with slight changes to the wording of the incantation. 

Ritual Timing: Dark/New Moon (Oct 31, 2024)

Ritual Objective: To Facilitate the Awakening & Growth of the Abilities Needed to endure and overcome life's challenges as well as increase the inner strength, courage, self-confidence, and level-headedness of women so that they may step into their Power and and achieve their individual, and community minded goals. (Basically, we're shedding the chains of the Patriarchy, y'all.) 

You will need the following:

Prep work to do before you begin:

Ritual Order

1.     Cleanse Yourself & Your Ritual Space 2.      Set up altar to your preference 3.       Gather Needed Items in Ritual Space 4.       Have Calls to elements & Divine prepared 5.      Have Goals in Mind to Write on Bay Leaves (or their alternative) 6.       Set up any additional wards/protections you may wish to use. 7.       Have Your Copy of the Incantation Ready to Go 8. If Outside, start your fire before you begin.

1. Call Elements & Cast Circle (Use whatever manner you wish, but I will include an option of my making) 2. Call Hekate (You may also call other deities of your choosing if incorporating this into a larger ritual) 3. Perform the Working 4. Present Offering to Hekate (partake of Cakes & Ale if desired) 5. Release Hekate (and other Deities) 6. Release Elements & Circle

Below, I will include the ritual in its entirety (as I will be performing it. Feel free to use your own methods for calling the Elements(Quarters), Casting Circle, and Calling Hekate (and any additional Deities).

Aid This Rite of Witches Free

Provide Your Power for Our Spell

Encircle Us, Protect Us Well.

By Your Might, and That of We

The Circle is Cast

So Mote it Be!

Hekate Call:

Come, Mighty Hekate, Queen of the Witches!

We light this flame, Invoking Your Divine Presence.

Blessed Mistress of Transformation,

Cast Your Favorable eye upon this enchantment,

and empower our rite.

Hail Hekate!

<Light Candle for Hekate>

Ritual Leader Places Empress and High Priestess cards in center of altar. Place one Tigers Eye (or chosen alternative) for each participant on/around cards.

Ritual Leader wraps herbs (except for Bay Leaves used for Goal Setting) in tissue, and twists it closed.

Holding herb packet in dominant hand Ritual Leader says:

Herbs of Protection, Strength, Peace, & Power

Do Our Bidding at this Hour!

If outdoors, toss herb bundle into fire. Indoors, light bundle on flame of Hekate candle and quickly place in fireproof receptacle. (example for indoors in above video)

Participants now write their Women's Empowerment Goals onto Bay Leaves or alternative (one goal per leaf).

When ready, Recite the Incantation (all participants, in unison) At the end, toss one goal (per participant) into the fire and repeat until all goals have been given to the fire. (Indoors, light leaves on Hekate candle and drop into fireproof receptacle as shown in video below).

Incantation:

Under the Dark Moon We claim our Power

Strength & Courage grow

with each passing hour

Obstacles melt away, like candles spent

Clear is the path on which we're sent

Mighty Torchbearer, Guide Our Way

Protect & Guard us, Mother Hekate

Wrapped in Conviction, we stand strong

As the wisdom & peace

of a new day dawns

With these words, we rise anew

Women Empowered

as

Leaders True

So Mote it Be!

When finished, take a moment to give each participant one of the Tigers Eye stones, then sit in silence, focusing on your intentions into it.

When moved to do so, present Hekate with your chosen offerings and then proceed with Cakes & Ale (if you choose).

Hekate Release:

Mighty Hekate, Queen of Witches!

We humbly extinguish this flame,

releasing Your Divine Presence.

Blessed Mistress of Transformation,

Accept our deepest gratitude for your favor

and empowerment as you depart.

Hail Hekate!
