Foresight Friday: Uncover in Order to Recover

Divination Method: Flower Magic Oracle

Card Drawn: Gaillardia

Key Word: Concealment

My Foresight Friday Interpretation:

Hey peeps, I'm baaaack!! Taking the last two weeks off was really a necessity so that I didn't burn out. It was the right decision, because I was able to adequately focus on the finishing details of planning the celebration of life for my dad - which went off without a hitch.

It's back to business now, so let's get to it...

The card that presented itself to us this week is Gaillardia.

The key word for Gaillardia is Concealment.

The Gaillardia card from Rachel Patterson’s Flower Magic Oracle.

Rachel’s Words of Wisdom, as I like to call them, in regards to this fiery blossom are:

“Some important knowledge has been concealed,

and someone hopes it won't be revealed.

Know that the truth has not been told,

so you must seek it out, be very bold.

Time to uncover that which is hidden,

for secrets like these are truly forbidden.”

Gaillardia is also known as "Blanket Flower", which is probably why this card is associated with covering things up.

So, the card is letting us know that someone isn't telling us the truth, and it's time to figure out what's going on in order to foster healing.

Don't get me wrong, even though we're being told that someone isn't being honest with us, that doesn't mean we need to be paranoid and start grilling our friends and family for info.

Odds are, we don't have to look much further than our own minds. We often lie to ourselves about one thing or another. Sometimes it's out of necessity so that we can get through a situation, other times it's because we're feeling down and start telling ourselves disparaging untruths about who we are.

Now is the time to rip the blanket off of what has been stashed under it. No more lying to ourselves about what we're doing and who we are.

If we're doing something that is harmful to ourselves or others, it's time to fess up - if only to ourselves - and then knock that shit off.

Sometimes the truth isn't any fun, but it needs to be revealed in order to heal.

To quote author and activist Glennon Doyle: "Gotta uncover before you can recover."

I say we should reveal the truth of who we are, because we are all pretty fucking awesome. No need to hide our true nature, the sooner we embrace it, the happier we'll be. It may mean there's some work ahead of us, but that's ok... badasses like us can handle it. 😎
