Foresight Friday: Stop Pushing for What You Want to Get What You Need

Card Drawn: Magic Prayer, Reversed

Words of Wisdom:

“Speak your prayers, listen for the answers, act in faith.”

 

My Foresight Friday Interpretation:

Upright, this card would be reminding us that our prayers will be answered; even if it’s not how we had wished. Unfortunately, this card in the reversed position tells us that we’re impeding this process by trying to inflict too much of our own will on the situation. 

Regardless of the cards position, it calls on us to spend some time engaged in prayer and/or meditation.

The prayer need not be anything specific, or even to a deity… we should pray however we deem fit. Whether we pray by connecting with nature, talking to deity, lighting a candle, wishing on a star, having a conversation with the moon, or simply tuning in with our higher selves through meditation is irrelevant…just take the time to do it.

Magic Prayer reversed is a reminder that we need to surrender our will to that of The Universe. Because, the truth of the matter is we can ask for what we want until we’re blue in the face, but the will of Divine is not so easily swayed by our wants. Much like when we were children, we could ask for all the things we wanted…but, our parents were more concerned with giving us what we needed. That same principle applies here.

We need to get out of our own way, and let The Universe do its thing. We can’t keep trying to force things. So, we need to chill, and be open to accepting what is heading our way.

It’s time to remember the wisdom of The Rolling Stones: 

“You can’t always get what you want. But if you try sometimes, you just might find you get what you need.”
